Whole lot of new changes!!!!

I can't believe it's been forever since I posted anything and life has completely flown by. I will try and catch you all up to speed. I moved back to Washington at the end of August and moved in with Chris. I studied for 2 1/2 months before taking my boards for nurse practitioner. I was actively looking for a nurse practitioner job anymore and was very unsuccessful. I took my exam on October 26th and PASSED!!!!!! I then became very stressed and anxious to find a job due to the fact that my renter stopped paying rent in August.

The month of November was very stressful!!! I finally had to take an ICU job in Olympia to pay the bills and have health insurance. I had to hire a lawyer and it took 2 months through the court system to finally evict my tenant. On December 23rd, sheriffs finally evicted my tenant and the drama began. I walked through my home that was brand new in 2007 to a disaster. My tenant scratched the heck out of new hardwood floors, holes all over the walls, dirt and animal urine all over the place, etc.... She also drove her car into the yard leaving tire marks and tearing up the yard. The yard was already very wet from the downpour of rain but it seemed extremely soggy and flooded. We turned off the water from the inside and the water meter continued to spin. We called the water company and they turned off the water and come to find out she broke a water line when she drove in the yard. So Chris and my dad dug up the whole yard and repaired the broken pipes. I was in hysterics due to all the money I had already lost and all the money that was going into fixing the place up. The house is finally repaired and on the market to sell.

In January my lucked turned around!!! I found my dream job in my hometown, who would have thought. I am working for an internal DO that specializes in cardiology. We do dobutamine stress echo, stress tests and vascular imaging in the office. I also have privledges at the hospital to round on my patients and see patients in the clinic. It is awesome and I'm having a wonderful time. It's such a huge learning curve going from treating the diagnosis to finding the cause of the problem.

Chris and I are doing wonderful and the engagement ring is on order!!!! I am so excited that I finally found the man of my dreams. We leave for Hawaii next week because Chris is in a wedding and we finally need a vacation. So I'm thinking he will propose there!!! I'm so excited!!!

I hope this was a short synopsis of the last 7 months!!! I'll keep you posted.

Graduation, Move, Mexico Trip.........

So I finally graduated May 2010, woohooo!!!!! Thank goodness I don't want to see a textbook, write a paper, or do clinicals for free for a very long time. My family and Chris flew down for graduation. The weather was extremely warm and my graduation gown reminded me of Harry Potter because it was shaped weird and very heavy.

Finally after two years being away from family and friends, I moved back August 2nd. Chris flew down to move me back but not until everything under the sun could happen to us before we could move back. There was a freak lightening storm that the plane was delayed in the air for 3 hours and I had no idea at the airport and was freaking out not knowing what happened. We went to go get the rental truck the next day in the morning and I got a call my one of my teachers stating she wasn't going to officially graduate me since she did not see me in my last clinical. I was so irritated because this woman flaked on my the whole semester and it was her problem to deal with, so I was pretty stressed out. Then we get the moving truck back to the house and I get a call to pick up Addison at the Vet and I had other errands to run. So I'm still upset about the call from my teacher while I'm driving and to make matters worse, a lady runs a red light and totals the front end of my new car I got in May!!!!! What a lovely day it has been!!! So my car is not driveable and we are leaving the next day and the plan was I was going to drive my car with the two dogs and Chris was driving the moving truck with the cat!!!! So dealing with insurance agents and collision people for 6 hours, we finally got a trailer to pull my car backt to Washington!!!!

So after saying good bye to my co-workers, we finally were on our way back 24 hours to Washington. I think the other drivers on the road thought we were cruel to animals having two big dogs in a busted car riding in the back of a moving truck with 90 degree weather!!! LOL.

MEXICO!!! So for my graduation gift, Chris and I went to Mexico for a week!!! I was really excited because I had never been to Mexico, I know crazy! We went with Travis and Mindy (his brother and wife). It was an amazing experience and we had so much fun. We stayed at Barcelo Maya Caribe Beach Resort in the Maya Riviera by Cancun. We got to do amazing things: Xplor, Cozumel, Xlha!!!! Xplor had to be the funnest adventure. Xplor was this amazing zip line adventure park. We got to go on 15 zip lines that were over the jungle, got to see aligators and jaguars, do amphibian ATV rides through the jungle and into caves with water, kayak cave ride, and got to walk through under water caves. I'll post later pictures of the zip line rides since they are on our water camera!!!

I think riding the scooters in Cozumel had to be one of the best parts. Cozumel is an island off of Cancun that you have to take a 30 minute ferry and it's a huge tourist and shopping community. We rented scooters for the day and got to ride 45 miles around the whole island.

So we are finally back home and we need a vacation now to recover from our vacation!!!! I'm in the process of studying for my boards and talking to many recruiters for jobs. I'll keep you posted on whats next!!!!

Life after Divorce!

Hey everyone!!! I know it's been almost a year since I last posted. But I went through a divorce this past year, almost done with school, and so ready to be done. The divorce was the hardest decision I've ever had to make but I think it saved my life. I was so unhappy for so long and now I am very lucky to have met someone that I really love. The weird thing is I met him in Colorado but he is from my neighboring home town. I never knew what true love was until I met Chris and can't wait to spend a lifetime with him.

I graduate May 28th!!! Woohoo, thank goodness because I have senioritis really bad. My future plans are to move back to Washington August 1st. Take a review course for boards in Texas and fly to Cancun August 15th for a week!!!! My ultimate dream job is to work in cardiac pulmonary acute care clinic and round in the hospital. I don't have a definative job set up since my boyfriend will not live in Seattle but we are planning to move to Olympia.

Weekend at Home!

Happy 21st Birthday Hayley! This picture was taken after 5 drinks and we were making fun of her lazy eye she gets after drinking. We had a great time at the Cheesecake Factory and she was amazingly surprised after planning the party for two months. I was happy that all of her friends showed up and it was drama free. She received many gifts including: a set of books, picture frame with her playing the guitar and her first cd, coffee mugs with coffee, chocolate and clothes. She started working as a CNA at a nursing home to make extra money for her move to Nashville to become a singer/songwriter. We are all cheering her on. Go Hay!

We had a going away BBQ for everyone on Monday. The first thing Michael did was get out of the car and head straight to the swings. He hasn't swung on swings for about 15 years. I think he had the most fun out of us and was there the whole day. The BBQ food included barbecued oysters, prime rib, and fried clams.

This was the first weekend, we were able to meet our niece and nephew. Shay has been dating Dawn for about a year and she has two kids, Karissa and Logan. We had so much fun with them we didn't want to let them go. They had never been to see the ocean so one of the days we were able to take them. At the beach, we went on the slick track with go-karts. We had a blast and the kids had so much fun. Corey and I spoiled them rotten with games, ice cream and laughter.

Karissa and I on the double slick track karts!

UPDATE!

Hey everyone! You probably thought I fell off the planet but Corey and I have been so busy. I finished my treatments for EBV and I felt great for a month but since finals are finishing up, the virus is activated again, so I need to go for more treatments. Spring semester is winding down and graduate school is overrated. I am not learning anything, jumping through many hoops for a certification. I start clinicals this summer, so hopefully by chance I will learn something. Corey got into a MVA at work. He was driving the firetruck to an accident scene and was parked on the side of the highway. It was raining out and some lady blasted him from behind and pushed the firetruck 3 feet. He suffered minor injuries but was off work for two weeks. We are getting excited because we finally get to go home. My parents bought a house and had it remodeled, so we are going to help move them in and my sister is turning 21 and I'm having a surprise bday party for her. I can't believe she is 21, that means I'm old! I am not looking forward to the two day drive but at least we will be driving the truck and have the dogs with us to entertain us. I hope this updates everyone and I'll try to write sooner!

Fugitives on the run!

The funny thing is, I hated those bushes in front of the fence!

This mornings damage!

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I was watching Runaway Bride in the living room. At 1230AM I hear this screech of brakes and a crash, I look out and our fence is gone and there is a Explorer in my yard. I yell for Corey, who is in a dead sleep, he runs out to the yard to find the car abandoned. I call 911 and the cops show up immediately. This fiasco lasted until 3AM, waiting for a tow truck and finding the drunkin fugitives. So now we wait for the police report and our land lord to build a new fence so our dogs can stay in the backyard. Just our luck!!!

Finally a Diagnosis!

I'm not sure if any of you know that I've been battling a bug for over two years and finally after my extensive physical, found out what has been causing my symptoms. I have the Ebstein Barr Virus, mono virus, that never goes away and mimicks the symptoms of mono whenever I'm stressed or my immune system is down. For the past two years, I will sleep 18+ hours a day and still feel exhausted. I thought I was tired because I worked night shift and my system was screwed up so I switched to day shift about a month ago and my symptoms were still bad. My lab results showed my antibodies were over 10,000 when the normal number is less than 100. So I can never really get rid of the virus but am seeing a specialist that is doing microcurrent. Your body’s cells utilize certain Microcurrent frequencies to increase energy production. Microcurrent changes the muscle tissue to increase cellular metabolism and remove long-stored waste products (detoxification). So in a sense, we are hoping to put the virus in a dormant stage. Now I have to go weekly for 45minute therapy sessions and have started taking an abundance of vitamins to help increase my energy level. Hopefully after two months of treatments, I can have my life back!!! Wish me luck!
